I found an instruction post online explaining how to make these really pretty Christmas baubles out of old cards.
So, naturally, I couldn’t resist giving it a with a load of my odd scraps of leftover materials… here are the results…
Each circle is joined to its neighbour with a straight line, creating a lovely combination of circles & triangles. In retrospect I definitely should have interfaced each piece to prevent fraying, but as an experiment I like the result. In the end I turned the shape inside out and really like the effect of all the little triangles in different patterns & colours. I think it would work better the intended way out if I stuffed it, and the interfacing would contribute to a crisper shape too. I think they are probably too complicated to make & sell economically, but I had fun trying it out & they will make great gifts for family & friends!
