A long overdue escape to sunnier climes was needed after a busy summer working. Marrakech had been on The List for a little while and idea of diving head first into its bustling streets was all the ‘convincing’ I needed.
I was completely taken. I was so inspired by the people, the colours, the architecture, the design; the relentless bustle of the dusty streets set against the breezy relaxation of the rooftop terraces.
Whilst sea green, salmon and lapis steal the eye initially, the true colours of Marrakech are undoubtedly rich ochre, sun-bleached earth, tanned leather and elegant dusty palm fronds. Whilst I was very sad to leave these influences definitely crept into my studio work – my latest batch of wallets have echoes of the rich colour choices of the Moroccans.
